The Niro is not an all-new model on the market this far into 2022. The design of the all-new Kia Niro was revealed at the end of November when the car was showcased in Seoul, South Korea. Now more details about the new generation of the successful crossover are presented. Launch in Europe will take place later in 2022.

The model has become slightly larger than the current model: length 4,420 mm (+65 mm), width 1,825 mm (+20 mm), height 1,545 mm (+10 mm) and wheelbase 2,720 mm (+20 mm). The passenger compartment has become more spacious, as has the luggage compartment, which has increased by 15 liters to 451 liters (VDA) in the Niro Hybrid.

As before, the Kia Niro will be offered as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric car.
The Kia Niro Hybrid has a 1.6-liter GDI gasoline engine which, together with a 32 kW permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, provides a combined output of 141 hp. The power is distributed via a six-speed double clutch box (6DCT).

When the Kia Niro is driven in urban green zones, the drive automatically switches to EV mode based on the navigation system and driving history data. “Greenzone Drive Mode” can also be programmed according to the driver’s chosen locations, for example around the home and workplace.
